Dutt Transport ‘s origins date back to the early 1980’s as an in house transport provider for Megara Thermoplastics (an associated entity). Megara capitalised on the need to establish a transport provider with the capability of transporting their fragile and evolving product range. Initially these services were confined to local transport and progressively evolved to include Megara’s interstate transport needs, incorporating Sydney and Brisbane routes.
Dutt Transport operated agency agreements outside its Victorian operations in its early stages, with the need for more control over its expanding business Dutt Transport commenced opening small interstate depots in Sydney and Brisbane in the early 1990’s. At this point, Dutt Transport was enjoying a mix of general and fragile freight with a higher emphasis on general freight. During the early to mid 2000’s Dutt Transport took the view that the future of the business would concentrate its efforts on the retail and commercial sector in fragile fixtures, fittings and equipment (FF&E)
Dutt Transport then embarked on pursuing customers within the retail sector, in particular shopfitting. In the outset this sector consisted of a large number of onshore manufacturers and builders. Whilst Dutt Transport enjoyed steady growth under this model, it also recognised the market shifting to overseas procurement and retailers wanting more control of their capital equipment and rationalisation of national fit out programs.
Dutt then embarked on pursuing retailers and other institutions offering a full 3PL & consolidation service.
Dutt has successfully introduced these services to some of Australia’s most iconic retail, financial, educational and government projects.

With 30+ years of substantial investment into our fleet – and much more planned in the years ahead, we have purpose designed and engineered specific equipment and optimised our assets to continuously improve and build efficiencies.
Dutt operates a fleet of company and selected subcontractor vehicles ranging from 1 Tonne Vans to B Double Semi Trailers. Our rigid truck fleet is company owned and is designed to operate locally or interstate. Power tailgates assist with safe unloading and air ride suspension provides risk-free transit of fragile goods.
All Dutt vehicles are now fitted with MT Data Wireless GPS Fleet Management & Tracking Solutions. This enables us to have real-time visibility of our fleet thereby providing our customers with a more productive service. With our vehicles being satellite tracked we can also supply accurate ETA’s, detailed messaging of addresses & site contacts, along with proof of delivery.
